Who am I?
I am an Environmental Anthropologist interested in the collective management of natural resources by indigenous people and local communities, specifically working in pastoral communities. My academic background started with my degree in environmental sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. After that, I was involved in a master’s in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the same university in the framework of the EXPLORA project in which I studied the role of the pastoral community of Castril (Spain) in the use and the management of the commons.
I am currently doing my Ph.D. in the Aix-Marseille Université in the framework of the interdisciplinary project Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas for Socio-ecological Resilience (ICCARe). I am working on the comprehension of how the Castril, Santiago, and Pontones pastoral commons have adapted as well as the factors that have influenced their current configuration, from the second half of the 19th century to the present. In addition, I will study the capacity to adapt that they have to the current global changes.
