Who am I?
I am a Sociocultural Anthropologist specialized on environmental issues, especially socio-environmental conflicts and conservation and community-based management of natural resources, with ethnographical work both in Chile and Spain. I have a Degree in Sociocultural Anthropology and a Master in Social Sciences at the University of Chile, and I am currently working on my PhD thesis on pastoral commons in Northeastern Andalusia, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
My research interests are immersed within the areas of Political Ecology and Science, Technology & Society studies, particularly in the way that landscapes -as biocultural assemblages- are configured and reconfigured by human and more-than-human agencies. This implies not just direct activities by the people living within a given territory, but also cultural conceptions on what ‘nature’ is, that translate themselves in public policies and socioeconomic tendencies that transform the landscape, always mediated by different kinds of technologies.
